Legal Question in Personal Injury in Virginia
personal injury
i was hit in the head by an air matress that fell off the top shelf at wal-mart.it cut me across the bridge of my nose and blacked my eye. this was like 6 months ago and a person can still see where there is some facial disfigurement (one eyebrow lower than the other, swelling, etc). On top of that, the doctor wanted to do a CT scan, but because it was a liability claim, he needed to speak with a claims clerk as to whether walmart would pay. The claims clerk said that wal mart doesn't pay medical bills directly. Therefore, I got no CT scan after a blow to the head that knocked me to the floor and made me lose consciousness for a minute or so. Here in my area, no competent attorney wants to handle a suit claiming it would take too long to settle Any suggestions, maybe anyone outside of my area interested in this one?

Re: personal injury
You don't need an attorney if your claim for damages doesn't exceed $5K.
Itemize your claims for medical costs, lost wages(if applicable)and pain and suffering and present it to the Wal Mart claims clerk/adjuster.
Then if "Big Box" refuses to pay, file your case against the company in the local small claims court.
