Legal Question in Personal Injury in Virginia

If I am at a stop sign and preceded to cross the street when no cars were coming and a car comes speeding and hits me why would I be considered to be at fault?

Maybe that was merely one traffic cop's offsite and limited perspective on the incident who ended up writing you a ticket.

Maybe, you actually were not at fault based upon the true facts concerning the matter and that therefore you should contest this ticket in traffic court.
