Legal Question in Personal Injury in Virginia

My wife was burnt with hot black coffee at a McDonald's drive trough window

because the cover was not put on tightly. The McDonald's Manager accepted responsibility

and notified their insurance carrier. They called and asked my wife what happened and also told

her that McDonald's was accepting complete responsibility and would call her back in a few days with an offer. My question is this: How do you know what is a fair offer?, I mean what is it worth when you get burnt like that? Granted it was not life threatening but still she is in pain through no fault of her own.

"Burn't like what", e.g., first, second, third degree burns, hours/days in hospital, etc.,? Your description of this burn is utterly inadequate with respect to the information necessary to offer a credible response to this question(in my opinion).

Nevertheless, you may find it advisable to discuss the matter with

a local attorney who handles personal injury matters and who could

advise you, accordingly.
