Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia
I am 68 years old, partially disabled due to respiratory condition and a heart condition. I have lived in a basement apartment for years, with no rent delinquencies and no lease. My landlors is selling the building. I was told on 11/04, over the phone, that the new owner wants me out by 11/30. I live in Lynchburg, Va. I thought that even without a lease, I have 30 days to move and must be informed by written notice. Am I correct and what should I do?

Tell whomever that you spoke with that you'll consider being out of this
basement apartment where you've lived for many years (with the rent always paid on time) by 01.01.2017.
