Basement Flooding on New House
I recently bought a house from an investor who bought it from the builder a few months prior. The investor never lived in it. Shortly upon moving in, I noticed a leaking basement. The builder attempted to fix it by cauking the windows. A few months later it is leaking quite a lot. The builder is going to tear up the walls and try to fix it again because he thinks it's a cracked/honeycombed foundation. I dont have a lot of confidence that it will be fixed or that the fix will hold up over time. Does anyone know what kind of remedies I could get or perhaps if I could cancel the sale and get my money back.

Very likely you got the same warranty that the previous owner had when you purchased the place from him(with whatever such warranty covers---or doesn't cover.)
But, I would very much doubt that you would have any basis to cancel the sale transaction due to a leaky basement, particularly, when the builder appears to be making efforts to ameliorate the problem.
