Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia

They just keep blowing me off.

We had a termite problem in the apartment for which nothing was done and my calls were blown off for about 2-3 weeks until one day they began to swarm in my hallway leading upstairs. My children were so afraid to go to bed that I spent all night until about 4:30 in the morning trying to kill them so that my kids would go to bed. As a result my 11 year old daughter is now scared to death when she sees any kind of ''BUG'' in the house. The latest one is a contaminated ice maker. The ice was making the whole family sick until we realized that it was actually the ice making us sick, we stopped using it. I've asked for it to be checked out and I explained what happened. The maintenance man came over and flatly told me that it was ''MY FAULT'' because I let the ice pile up. I explained to him that it piled up because we stopped using it, ''it was making us sick''. I called again and I was told I would get a call back later that day, but I never got the call. This was one week ago. Do I have any legal rights in this case?

Re: They just keep blowing me off.

Consult your lease to determine who's responsible for taking care of the termites(most likely,

the landlord) and the "contaminated icemaker"(more

problematical as to who may be responsible for fixing this).
