Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia

I bought a house last year with my boyfriend. His name is on the title but not on the mortgage. How can I get him to move out now that we are separating? Will I have to sell my house? If selling is the easiest way then is he entitled to half of any money we make off the sale even if he isn't on the loan?

You can buyout his interst in the property or file a partition

suit in the local circuit court where the property is located.

The former would be much cheaper and quicker than the latter

(in both respects).
