Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia

I am buying a rental property that has an existing lease in place. I have read the lease and it is silent on the issue of what happens when the property is sold. Will the lease transfer with the property and time of sale and tenant have same obligations to me as with the previous owner.

House is in Virginia.

Yes, exactly right, i.e., you will take title to this property subject to all of the terms of the existing lease until it naturally expires.
