Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia
We have a contract with an on about date of July24th..We are the sellers..we have asked to move the date by one week because both my parents are ill and we are trying to get Mom
in a Memory Care Facility July30th so she won't have to move but one time...My father is in a rehab facility and being discharged at the end of this week...The buyer's realtor says we are obligated to close on July 24th..The state in which we live is Virginia...I don't think a week is unreasonable...?

Yes, you may be legally obligated now to close on the 24th as stated by the buyer's agent, but has this
person even bothered to check with the buyer to determine whether s/he may have a problem with a week's delay, and, if so, for what reason(s)?
