Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia

My cousin is about to name me in a partition law suit, becasue I haven't signed the partition deed...the deed included my interest (2.55 acres of land) and some additional issues pertaining to other family members inappropriately obtaining deeds which is why I haven't signed it. Do I need an attorney for this level of lititgation and should I offer to sell my interest at market value?
