Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia

Deed of Assumption

In September of !999, my lawyer filed papers, which my X husband signed, stating husband agrees to deed said property to wife by deed of assumption. I did not file any thing at the time, and this does not appear in my final decree. Is there anything I can do to get his name off the deed or is it too late.

Re: Deed of Assumption

If the agreement which your husband signed was incorporated into your final decree of divorce as part of your PSA(Property Settlement Agreement), then the divorce could be reopended and a motion filed to have your former husband Show Cause as to why he should not now be found in contempt of court for having apparently violated what would now be an order of the court.
