Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia

deed

I have a property that contains a life eatate provision for my parants'.This property is on record in Gliles County Va. My parants' and I are thinking about changing this deed to a joint teant with survivorship .If we do this do we need to file any other documents be cause of the life estate provision?

Other than having an attorney prepare and record a new deed reflecting the change in ownership interests, I know of nothing else that would need to be done. This new deed properly prepared and recorded should supercede the previous one and effectively extinguish the life estate interest reflected in the latter.
