Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia
since a dog is personal property in virginia, can a landlord discriminate on the breed? to me this is like saying you can drive a car but only american cars no other cars.

Yes, of course. Your analog is less than apt. A rotweiler could
conceivaby have an impact on the landlord's rented property as well as
persons who might have occasion to come into contact with such
property in a way that a poodle or small terrier would
not.
Of course, the landlord may discriminate between which
of these breeds he may be willing to tolerate on his property and
which he is not.
