Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia

dower law

My husband just bought the house we have been renting for 4 years. he did not put me on the loan or deed. he had NO inheritence or old money or savings before we were together bottom line very poor.. IS the downer right law abolished in the state of virginia or still okay and on the books. I work hard and pay the bills as well.

Re: dower law

Dower was abolished in Virginia. In its place, the General Assembly developed the Augmented Estate scheme. This real property may be considered marital property as it was acquired during the marraige.
