Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia

my father and i bought a home, we are on the deed together, now he wants me to sign a lease , telling me that i have to pay him $600.00 a month for 13 years. That cant be legal if i am already an owner of the property, right?

Yes, you're right. (How about making him a counteroffer, i..e., he pays you $559.00 a month for 12 years?)
