Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia

if i let a friend borrow some drum equipment and he is refusing to give the equipment back, can i take him to court for the return of my property or monetary payment for the value of the equipment and what are they chances of getting my property back if i have evidence????

Yes, you can file what's called a Warrant in Detinue in your

local general district court for the return of your

personal property, or, if it cannot be returned for whatever reason, request

that a judgment be entered against the wrongful withholder(defendant)

for its fair market value.

The clerk's office will have the paperwork that you need to fill out to

file your case.
