Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia

Home improvement

I paid a man to fix my house. he fixed it and said would come back on in 30 days to finish it. It has been 60 days. I called him and he said that he will be their he will be their. He never shows up. My questions is can i hire someone else to finish the work he started and then make the other guy pay for it since we did sign a contract. So in reality he voided his contract. Thanks for you help.

Re: Home improvement

Yes, if you completely paid for all work that was to be performed and the first fellow never finished the job for which he was fully paid, then you would be legally entitled to hire a second fellow to come and finish the job and then sue the first one for your expenditures to the second one which were reasonably necessary in order to get the work completed.
