Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia

I believe my home was unlawfully foreclosed on. I live in Virginia and I asked multiple times for a loan modification and never received the information I needed to save my home. My home was sold to fannie Mae in less then 1 months time. I have been trying to save my home and I had been making the monthly payments and when I paid late on month the returned the money and said I was in default and in foreclosure. The house was auctioned and sold without anyone informing me of any options. Is there anything I can do to regain my home?
