Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia

House is landlocked

My neighbor continues to obstruct my house using gates and locks to try to keep me out of my property. We have this only road to our house for over 38 years. He says he is building us a new road but going through his property not our access that we have been using. What is the landlock law in Virginia?

Re: House is landlocked

Better arrange to consult with an attorney who is appropriately knowledgeable in the law of easements and real property to determine whether you may in fact have an easement of necessity over the neighbor's land in order to access your property and whether he's legally entitled to change or alter your right of easement in the manner which you've described.
