Once a house has been sold, can the seller be held responsible for repairs to the home if the sale did not include a warranty?

No, not normally, unless the buyer can prove fraud or misrepresentation with respect to the seller's failure to disclose the relevant information regarding these
needed repairs after having been questioned by the buyer on these issues.
