Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia

Incomplete home refurbishment

The person I puchased my home from has not completed the refurbishment and demands 2nd mortgage payment. I have been paying 1st mortgage payment since October 2005 and we were not allowed to move into the home until mid March 2006. I had to purchase fixtures that the Seller/Contractor were suppose to provide. What do I need to do? The Seller/Contractor will not respond to any of my calls or letters. I feel I was taken advantage of as a first time home buyer.

Re: Incomplete home refurbishment

You may have to file suit against this apparently

now uncooperative seller/contractor to recover what is your due and, therefore, you should have an attorney review the original sales contract and factual context as well as any other pertinent materials in order to advise you as to your best course of action.
