Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia

Is a landlord responsible for an unsafe pool on their property? Can they be mad

We are renting a house and the pool has sunk in the ground making it unsafe to even walk on the deck. Can the landlord be held responsible for getting the deck fixed?

Depends on the terms of the lease and whether the landlord owns enough rental properties to be subject to the Residential Landlord/Tenant Act. It may be that your right is an option to terminate the lease rather than to require the landlord to bear the cost of repair. You should see a lawyer about this.
