Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia

If my Landlord takes money from my deposit do i have the right to receipts for the work done? We had a verbal agreement that no money would be taken if the buyers of the home didn't have an issue with surface scratches on the hardwood floors. We waited over 30 days with no response and they had a buyer for the home that had no issue with the scratches because they completely gutted the house after they purchased it. This took place in Texas

Well, have you made a written demand to this landlord for the return of whatever deposit money may be due you in accordance with this verbal agreement?
