Late Rent & Landlord's Responsibilty to Notify

My July rent payment was returned to the rental mangement office from the bank for non-sufficient funds.

I paid my August on time with a money order.

August 19th I received a 5-day notice to opay or quit for July's rent. I was not aware that the check was not paid by my bank.

One month plus later I receive this notice. What is the time limit for the landlord to collect pass due rents after accepting another month rent?

There is no such time limit. You have 5 days to

pay or quit the premises.
