Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia

What is the law on abandoned property in Virginia. I have a friend who stored property in my home. It was supposed to be short term. Now he refuses to pick it up.

Send him written notice that he has 30 days to come and pick up

these items of his personal property or you will have to dispose of them as you

see fit after that date.(Make sure you keep a copy for your records.)

Then do so, if that date comes and goes and your doorway is never

shadowed by his penitent form expressing his sincere

apologies for allowing his property to overstay its welcome on your

premises.
