Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia
Is there a law in Virginia that if someone finds cash in a public place with no way of identifying the owner, the finder must give it to police? If such a law exists, is there a dollar amount at which the finder faces punishment if they don't turn it in, or is even one cent technically subject to the law (if it exists, which I'm also asking)?

No, I am not aware of any law in the
Commonwealth which legally obligates a finder
of such cash to turn it over to police.
Such is generally regarded as a matter for the individual conscience
of the finder (as far as I am aware) who hopefully will be motivated
to do the right thing. (And, yes, in my view that means turning
it over to the police.)
