i want to get out of my lease because its not habitable because of bed bugs, as well as recover my lost/damaged property. They did not provide appropritate extermination to the common areas as well as to the entire building.Can i file suit against my landlord to get out of the lease as well as recover lost property due to negligence on their part?

You may or may not have a basis for claiming construction eviction
under Virginia law (depending upon the severity of the bedbug problem
and efforts of landlord to mitigate it). Therefore, you may wish to give your landlord written notice that he must take action to clear up this problem by a date certain, or you will have to request that a rent escrow account be asserted with the clerk 's office of the local general district court and that all future rental payments will be made to that account until further notice.
