Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia

Lien on real property

lien showed up on title of my property . trying to

refinance my home . The person who put the lien on my

property is refusing to give the mortgage company a

payoff for this lien. Do I have any legal rights as to

making this person provide a payoff before I lose this

Loan?

Re: Lien on real property

The person holding the lien must accept the

tendered payoff or release the lien. If he refuses

to do so, court action might be required to force him to do so.
