Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia

Limited POA Question

I purchased and downloaded a Limited Power of Attorney. The entire document is easy to read and follow. However after listing the property address is it necessary to write a description in the area listed as ''and legally described as'' All I need is for the Agent to have the authority to sell the property because I am not able to attend the closing. I need the agent to be able to become me at closing. Thank you for your assistance.

Re: Limited POA Question

The legal description is not strictly legally "required" but many lenders require it, and it's a good idea to include it. Unless there were changes since you acquired the property, the legal description should be found on the deed pursuant to which you acquired the property. Consult with the lawyer (or title company) handling the closing for details.
