Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia

I live in an apartment with black mold. My daughter has asthma and we all have mold allergies. The landlord can not fix the problem, can I get out of the lease and get assistance with relocation?

I would suggest that you attempt to persuade this landlord to

allow you out of the lease prematurely and without penalty for the

reasons you've mentioned in the question. Otherwise, if you attempt to

just terminate the lease on your own without the landlord's approval,

you may well find yourself served with a summons to appear

in court for the unpaid balance of your lease(in my opinion).
