Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia

If I live with my domestic partner in his mother's house for 3 years and he leaves one morning with our daughter and then his mother brings me an eviction notice and then puts up trespassing signs and changes the locks on the doors while I'm gone is that illegal or do I still have rights to that property till my eviction date

Unless you have a valid legal ownership interest in this property such as might occur if you

were married to your "domestic partner", your rights are now likely no more than those of a month

to month tenant who could expect under the circumstances described no more than a 30 day

advance notice of having to move out.
