Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia
I live in Virginia and my lease is up on the 30th of June. I spoke to my landland last month and he told me that aslong as I give a 30 day notice I was fine. So I gave a 50 day notice, he then called back after I gave him the notice that he was mistaken and it is 60 days which is says in the lease, but he verbally told me 30 days. No he say I am already signed up for a new lease for an entire year. I was wondering if is there anyway I can get out of the lease

Tell this landlord that you regard this 30 day verbal notice requirement as binding and that, consequently, you will not be renewing this lease for another year.
