Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia

my ex had a loan in his name and he left and we had a verbal agreement that I could stay there as long as I paid the house paymet I paid it to him and he didn't pay the house payment is that illegal I am also on disability and I have all the records that I paid him I also when I was late paid the 20 extra late fee

So, what's happening now with this situation--you're being booted from the

house or something else? (And no, it was not "illegal" for the scoundrel to

pocket your money and not use it to make the house payment unless, perhaps, your

name was also on this loan which apparently was not the case?)
