Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia

how long must i store property?

My ex fiance recently moved out of our apartment, and I have since had her name removed from the lease. My question is, how long must I legally store her property, if she makes no attempts to reteive it? If I throw away her belongings, how can I protect myself from getting sued? Any help you can provide would be appreciated. Please respond via email. [email protected]

Re: how long must i store property?

The answer is: a reasonable length of time as determined by your particular circumstances.

Also, before you dispose of these items, you should have proof that you made at least one attempt to give her written notification.
