Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia

Low-Income Housing Disclosure?

We recently purchased our first home, which is a townhome in Loudoun County, VA. After having been here just 2 months, we just learned that the [not yet occupied] unit next door is low-income housing.

Should we have been notified at contract, or prior to settlement, that there would be a low-income housing unit next door to ours? What is the law related to this?

Our development is all new construction.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Low-Income Housing Disclosure?

There is no requirement that I am aware of which would require that you as a prospective buyer must be notified that you might be taking up residence adjacent to property which at some future time might be occupied by low income people.
