Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia

Me and my,roomate.on april2010 got an apartment together.him being the lessee,me being a legal listed occupant.he decided dec 2 2010.he put a 30 day .with out me knowledge...i find out dec 6.my question is do ihave any rights?, an we signed a 1year lease in april2010 .''he said i got to be out by jan 1''what do i do before 3 weeks is up?how do i solve this,and where do start?

If you've signed a lease, you can only be evicted according to the terms of

this lease, and if you haven't provably breached it in any significant way,

you should be able to stay in that apartment until the lease expires in April 2011.
