Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia

neighbor's fence leaning over into my property

The 10' privacy fence at the back of my property is owned by a business office behind me. The fence is leaning over into my property and is basically only being held up by my chain link fence back there. If it falls over completely it will destroy my new fence that I am building now. The trees and weeds on my property appear to have grown into the fence and helped pull it down. Do you think it is reasonable for me to ask The business behind me to fix their fence? I do not want them to turn around and tell me that it is my fault and it is my responsibility to fix it.

Yes, it would certainly appear reasonable that you bring this matter to the business' attention (preferably in writing) and request that they fix it. However, you in fact may also have some work to do on your side of the fence with respect to the entangling weeds and trees in order to ameliorate matters.
