Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia

non profit rescue being forced to close

We run a non-profit, 501c organization for rescuing dogs and cats at our home. We used to be a rural area, but now a developer has bought the property next to us and is going to build a housing development. He has told us that we can no longer run our rescue and is fighting to close us down. What rights do we have if any to keep them from doing this? Thanks.

Better arrange to see a zoning and land use attorney in your area who should be able to advise you on this matter.
