Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia
We paid back taxes on land that was about to go to action, to a lawyer...the landowner signed the deed and also signed a contract that was not notarized but was witnessed by 3 people, is this a legal document? and now that the back taxes are paid doesn't want to go have signatures notarized, is the contract drawn up and signed by witnesses enough?

I couldn't offer an opinion regarding this question without
reviewing all of the paperwork (including this unnotarized contract) associated
with his matter as well as other related relevant facts that may not have been
reduced to writing.
