Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia

pets and the lease

I have been living in a mobile home park for 2 1/2 years, my dog has been hear with me the whole time. She was approved when I moved in and she is on the lease. The lease does not state that the dogs have to be smaller then 25 lbs. but I was told by the landlord that I have to get rid of her within thirty days. I was never told about the 25 lb restriction till now. But now I find out that the manager should have never approved her. Do I have any rights here or better yet does my dog have any rights here. I have not got comlaints on her the whole time she has been here. And if I had know about the restriction I would not have moved in here. I got her approved before I got myself approved and I told them that if she couldn't come I was not moving in, and at that time they did approve her. Can it change with no notice? How much notice do they have to give me?

Re: pets and the lease

If all that you say is true, you should be legally entitled to stay on with your dog until the term of your current lease is up, at which

time the landlord could amend it to reflect the

25lb.+ restriction.
