Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia
Property Left by seller in my new home.
I purchased a home in Virginia almost 2 years ago. The seller moved to a new home about 15 minutes away, and has left furniture. I have called the seller on many occasions requesting they remove their furniture. I think this furniture has value, but I want them to remove it so I will not be liable for it. They keep making excuses for why they cannot pick it up. What are my legal options with respect to their furniture? I really just want them to take it back. Thank you for any advice you have.

It's been two years now. How many more years are you going to wait?
Send one final notice, certified mail, return receipt requested, informing them that they have 30 days from the date of the notice to retrieve their items-----after which you will claim title to them and dispose of them in the manner you see fit. (Keep careful records of all communications/
notices that were sent.)
