my father inlaw is the last living child to some land that was own by his father. I am interested in buying this land. How will I go about purchasing this land. my father inlaw also had 4 other brothers, will I have to pay the off spring of his brother children off

The answer depends on who owns the property. Does your father-in-law own the property, or do the "off-spring" also have an ownership interest? This may be revealed by a title search. The owner(s) of the property are the ones who would get paid and, usually, must sign the contract of sale. You might want to run this by an attorney.
