Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia

I own a property in Richmond, Va since 2005. the mortgage has been bought and sold a few times. I have been asking the current lender for a copy of the original loan documents and note since May of 2009. Each time I have asked they say I will receive them within two weeks and I have not received a copy. Is it true, under VA law, if a lender cannot provide those documents there is no loan and the mortgage is void?
