Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia

We purchased a doublewide on land 21 months ago. had a home inspection done with no major defects found. the home has always had a musty smell. We had a mold specialist come in this week and he has found mold in the bathroom walls and down the center walls. Also leaks in the kitchen behind the sink. this may be a very expensive process. Do we have any recourse against the sellers (it appears they did some painting to cover up stains) or the inspector that failed to catch any of these mold issues?

Probably, not with respect to the sellers, unless you had actually questioned them

about mold which they then failed to disclose. However, you may have a claim

against the home inspector for any remissness on his part in failing

to discover this problem, but more relevant facts would be needed to make a credible

estimate on this particular issue regarding this inspector's possible civil liability.

in this situation.
