Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia

I purchased a home in Virginia after marriage. The mortgage is only in my name, as my husband did not qualify, however I was told since we were married he HAD to be listed on the title. Now that it's after the fact, I wonder if this was really true? If not, is there anything I can do about it? I worry about protection of my assets from his ex-wife.

No, there is no requirement under Virginia law that both spouses be listed

on the title(s) to their marital properties. (This may, however, been a condition

imposed by the lender.)
