Question on lease agreement
A friend has a one year lease agreement with a local club. They hold a fundraiser inside this location. They have been suspended from holding the fundraiser events. However, they have continued to ask my friend to hold the building for them. The lease is for the year of 2009 with rent to be paid after each event night instead of a monthly basis (the club's request). Now, they call and want to move things out and feel they are not responsible for any rent due. Can my friend put an attachment on some of the equipment until they pay the rent amount due? Thank you.

Before any actions are undertaken to withhold the

club's equipment, your friend should seek a consultation with a local attorney to review the lease document and pertinent related facts and

who then should be able to advise him or her, accordingly.
