Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia
ratified contract
The contract for the sale of our home has been ratified and has no contingencies left. The buyer even opted to take out the financing contingency. Now, 2 weeks before the settlement date, they want us to release them from the contract. We have already signed a 6 month lease agreement and bought a new home. Can they really get out of the contract to buy our home?

Re: ratified contract
I would not think so, based on what you are saying.
What is the reason they are seeking to be released? You may want to have an attorney review the contract with you.
