Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia
Real estate dilemma
We purchased a home from our agent 2 years ago. The inspection was done by her husband and the house passed with minor fixes. Since moving in we've been told by numerous contractors that some serious things are not to code and need to be corrected before they can bid the work. We had no reason to suspect either of their opinions, but we're now fixing things that should have been factored into the deal had they been disclosed/discovered. Do we have any legal recourse against our agent/inspector/seller due to the home passing, or even being sold to us?

Only if you as a prospective buyer asked questions regarding these items and the seller deliberately
deceived you or engaged in provable misrepresentations in his or her answers to these questions and the applicable statute of limitations
has not yet expired.
