Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Virginia

Real Estate scam

We are selling a commercial building in VA (we are now living in FL) The broker handling the sale also holds a note on the building. As of last August he told us he had a buyer ( we have a sales contract). We have been strung along for so long we now owe this broker a large amout of interest. We were just told this evening that the buyer is no longer interested. Now the broker is threatening forclosure unless we come up with a large sum of money immediatly(which he knows we don't have). We have tons of e-mails proving that he strung us along. Do we have any recourse. If so, because we are in FL and the building is in VA can we use a FL attorney?

Re: Real Estate scam

You should retain a Virginia licensed attorney. The real estate is in Virginia, and I assume the Broker is as well.
