i recentley purchased a home and road construction started in front of my house soon after that will effect the value of my house and i was not told about it what legal recorse can i take or should i take

Unless you specifically asked the seller one or more questions

regarding this issue (prior to closing) and s/he either misrepresented and/or failed to fully disclose the fact of this pending road construction, under current Virginia law you are likely without a remedy (my opinion).
